About why I began this blog:

For me, a web log is more a place for my own musings than anything else. I write as a brain dump, a burst of information so that I don’t have to try to keep it all in mind. I write to clear my head of the thoughts that zip here and there and bring them into a more organized and tangible form. I use my blog as a sounding board to wander through reasoning and perhaps come to a conclusion. It is a spot solely for the determination or expression of my opinion or perspective. I do not claim that it is the only truth or that it is infallible, simply that it is my point of view.

Some who know me may use it as a way to keep up with the goings ons in my life. And it can be a chronology of the events in my life. But make no mistake, it is only the thoughts and wanderings of my mind, written for me and I have no obligation to the reader. If you have a problem with what you read, feel free to express your opinion, but flaming is a waste of time. No one made you read it.

About me:

I’m a duck. Seriously. And not in reference to the ugly duckling story either.

My grandfather once told me that an Eagle excels at flying and that an Ostrich excels at running and that a Penguin excels at swimming. A Duck may not fly as well as an eagle, may not run as swiftly as an ostrich and may not swim as skillfully as a penguin…but an eagle can neither run nor swim, an ostrich can neither fly nor swim and a penguin can neither fly nor run. A duck can fly and run and swim.

I am a duck, because I do many things. Perhaps I am not the best there is at each of the things that I do, but there are many things I do well.

thoughts:

* Fate can only take you so far, and then you have to suck it up and help yourself.
* So with every light, there is a dark and every happiness, there is a sadness. It is the contrast that makes every moment something experienced so vividly and so deeply.
* Past, present, future. Memories are fragments of the past carrying light and darkness, joy and heartache, pain and celebration. They lend contrast and depth to living, perpetually building the person of the present and embodying the lessons learned that shape the decisions that define the person of tomorrow.
